Supported reconnection

EU nationals who wish to return home and have low support needs should be able to manage their own return if a ticket is provided. Some local authorities offer ‘ticket only’ reconnection schemes and others make tickets available on an ad-hoc basis through outreach teams and day centres. Assistance may also be available via consulates. However, people with substance misuse and other support needs require more assistance to prepare for the journey and to access appropriate support back home. This is known as ‘supported reconnection’.
