Thames Reach’s Targeted Rapid Intervention
Outreach (TRIO) team helps rough sleepers, the hidden homeless and vulnerable
women, offering rapid and skilled interventions in every London borough.
TRIO also regularly participates in joint
operations that target hotspots where rough sleepers can be found often living
in surroundings which pose considerable risks to their health.
Funded by London Councils, TRIO helps people
access accommodation, counselling, literacy workshops, financial support,
training and employment opportunities –
delivering an effective service for the capital’s most marginalised people.
Thames Reach is the lead agency in this partnership
with EASL, Maya and Blenheim – working together, across the capital, to offer
specialist support to help vulnerable men and women who aren’t currently
accessing appropriate support or housing.
TRIO workers offer support to anyone sleeping
rough, but also empower vulnerable women at risk to get appropriate help before
they resort to rough sleeping. Workers offer our counselling, workshops and

and planned interventions where staff work alongside other organisations such
as the Metropolitan Police, the Fire Brigade, other voluntary sector
organisations, local authority community safety wardens, and immigration
Skilled outreach staff with necessary language skills will, if required,
accompany enforcement teams on operations and can offer advice and practical
assistance in areas such as health, finding accommodation and work and being
supported to return home.

This is an area of unique expertise for Thames Reach given our pan-London
services are already working with agencies in every London borough, and with
our team of EU language speakers. Thames Reach has contributed to the closure
of many dangerous hotspots, supporting agencies and rough sleepers in the most
practical and appropriate way possible.
