Development
Thames Reach purchased this Grade II listed property at 29 Peckham Road in summer 2010 and obtained planning permission to transform it for use into our Employment Academy.
We have selected Lakehouse to carry out the main 12 month construction programme which commenced in May 2011.
We plan to make the most of this great local asset and are substantially investing in improvements that will bring it up to date in a way that respects the existing building and our neighbours.
We will develop a flexible mixture of office and training room spaces, some of which will be available for local community use. In addition, we will develop a café which will be open to the public, as well as service members making use of facilities and services at the Academy.
A project group consisting of key Employment Academy partners, including Southwark and Lambeth Councils, meet on a regular basis to consider design and strategic issues.
We will continue our consultation with potential service members, organisations who may wish to make use of space within the academy, local people and interested community groups on the design proposals, and so regular meetings will take place throughout the life of the building programme.
In addition to our consultation meetings, interested parties will also be able to leave comments here .
