Christmas is a particularly important time of year for Thames Reach and the work we do. It is at this time of year that homeless and vulnerable people can feel especially isolated and alone.
This year the Thames Reach Christmas Appeal will be focusing on social networks and the role they play in breaking the cycle of homelessness.
We are hoping to raise money to help the users of Thames Reach’s services get back in touch with friends and family during the festive season. This can be a costly time of year for individuals on a low income as expenses may include travel, accommodation, meals and small gifts for family members.
There are a number of ways in which you can get involved:
-
You can donate money to Thames Reach, and help us support the people who need it most this Christmas.
-
We are currently taking orders for Thames Reach Christmas cards designed by Emma Humphrey. We would like to suggest a minimum donation of £4 for 10 cards. Additionally, if your company wishes to use the image as an e-card this can be arranged. Orders can be made by email to: emma.rembalski@thamesreach.org.uk
-
Support in the form of donations of wrapped Christmas presents (value of up to £10), clearly marked for either male or female recipients are greatly received.
-
Volunteers can cook a Christmas meal under the supervision of award winning chef Simon Boyle, for users of Thames Reach’s services.
-
Thames Reach has teamed up with London Underground to hold collections at underground stations in December. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to come and collect on behalf of Thames Reach for two hours at a time. Money collected will contribute to reuniting services users with their friends and families over the festive season.
-
Fundraise for us by; holding a mulled wine and minced pies party one lunch time at your office; staging a Christmas pantomime; asking your local church to hold a carol concert in aid of Thames Reach.
-
You can also help Thames Reach when doing your Christmas shopping
Please keep us in the loop as to what you're doing - we want to hear all your innovative money making ideas!
