A ten-year-old girl has run a 5km race to raise money for London’s homeless.

Isabella Finkler was inspired to run the race after seeing homeless people on the streets of the capital.

She and her cousins travelled from their home in the capital to the Kent sea front to run the race which took place earlier this year.

Isabella wrote a letter to Thames Reach explaining why she chose the charity. “I wanted a homeless charity in London and I looked them all up and yours looked the best.”

Isabella’s sponsored run raised £33 and staff in Thames Reach’s head office matched her funding by putting in £33 themselves.

Staff and former homeless people whose lives have been changed by the services of Thames Reach have now been invited to visit her school to talk about homelessness.

Kathleen Isaac, Thames Reach’s fundraiser, said: “We were all moved at the charity’s head office by the support of Isabella and we will make sure every single penny of her donation goes towards helping homeless people turn their lives around.”
