Support our Christmas appeal

14 December 2006:
As winter sets in and the Christmas lights go up, the work of Thames Reach becomes ever more pressing. It is at this time of year that homeless and vulnerable people can feel especially isolated and alone.

Many men and women supported by Thames Reach are estranged from family members and friends. For these people, the festive season can bring with it a great sense of loneliness and loss.

Over the Christmas period, we try to provide festive cheer to everybody we work with, by:

  • offering meals and parties on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve
  • providing phonecards for isolated people to contact family and friends
  • giving Christmas presents to each of our residents, and enabling them to give gifts to special people in their lives
  • offering activities and entertainment, such as taking people to attend Midnight Mass or to see a pantomime
  • decorating our accommodation projects to create a festive atmosphere

Please help us to make this Christmas period  – and the coming year – a time of hope and companionship for homeless and vulnerable people.
