Staff from leading IT specialists Fujitsu transformed the garden of a Thames Reach supported housing project in Brixton last month.

Eight people on a graduate training programme with the computer company raised over £1,000 to pay for materials from companies in the local area. They drew up detailed landscaping plans, and took a day out from the office to complete a makeover of the back yard.

Despite heavy rain showers, the staffs’ efforts – part of a team challenge organised with the help of Business in the Community – resulted in a new garden with lighting, benches, plants and decking.

Jasprit Jandoo, a project worker at the scheme, said: “In a short space of time they completely

revamped the space. I was incredibly impressed not only by their enthusiasm but by their professionalism.”
