Partnership, innovation and the LAA

Thames Reach and Lambeth First are sponsoring a free conference to help Lambeth voluntary and community groups build their understanding of the Local Area Agreement.

The conference will run from 9.30am to 3.30pm, Friday 30 March 2007, at Morley College, 61 Westminster Bridge Road, London, SE1 7HT (nearest tube Lambeth North). Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The conference answer the following questions

  • What do we need to do to make sure we can compete for LAA contracts?

  • What does the Local Area Agreement mean for my organisation?

  • How can smaller groups work with larger organisations?

  • How can we encourage innovation?

  • What is social enterprise?

Who should attend?

Representatives of small and medium-sized voluntary and community groups working in Lambeth, local partnerships and not-for-profit organisations who want to learn more about the Local Area Agreement, commissioning of services and how groups can build their capacity by working in partnership.

Workshops include

  • risk management

  • innovation (with input from Futurebuilders)

  • developing partnerships

  • full cost recovery

Keynote speakers

  • Councillor Steve Reed, Leader of Lambeth Council

  • Speaker from the Government’s Office of the Third Sector
