Residents at a Thames Reach hostel for the homeless in Vauxhall were recently treated to a visit by the celebrated actress Joanna Lumley.
A Lambeth local herself, Joanna chatted with the residents of Graham House, had her photograph taken and signed autographs.
Tony Waters, hostel manager, said: “It was great that Joanna was willing to spend the morning with us. The residents really love her. They all wanted to meet and be photographed with her. It gave everyone at Graham House a real lift.”
Joanna was at the hostel to take part in a promotional video being produced by Thames Reach on the GROW scheme.
GROW is a three-year initiative designed to get more people with first-hand experience of being homeless employed by Thames Reach, and to influence the entire homelessness sector to follow suit.
