The Intelligent Giving website provides detailed information and advice about the not-for-profit sector in the UK, and is designed to increase the ease and confidence with which the public give to charities.

Top Rated status is only given to organisations that receive a ‘quality of reporting’ score of 75 per cent or more, based on an in-depth analysis of annual reports. With a score of 77 per cent, Thames Reach is one of the most transparent charities in the country.

Intelligent Giving’s profile of Thames Reach also shows that 98 per cent of its expenditure goes directly into providing services for vulnerable people.

Thames Reach Chief Executive Jeremy Swain said: "We are proud of our annual report, both in terms of the positive message it conveys about the achievements of homeless people and the openness with which it describes the operations of the charity.

“It is wonderful to receive external validation from Intelligent Giving and, in line with the total transparency that is the hallmark of Thames Reach, we would be delighted to show supporters, existing and potential, around our services. Please do not hesitate to get in touch!“

Intelligent Giving has examined the Annual Reports and websites of over 500 charities, and also invites advice and information from expert commentators, grant-givers, independent researchers and the voluntary sector itself, making it well placed to guide the public in their choice of charity.
