This year's Hilary Stent awards ceremony will be held on the evening of Wednesday 15 July.

The Hilary Stent Big Step Award was created as an annual award for homeless people and ex-homeless people who are trying to make big steps in their lives and was created in honour of Hilary Stent, a former employee of Thames Reach who died suddenly in 1999.

Thames Reach corporate supporters BlackRock have kindly volunteered to host the awards ceremony in their offices in the city.

This year’s awards will be for service users who come up with the best ideas about how to help people making the big step away from homelessness.

Judges are looking for ideas that are ambitious, unusual and make a big difference to the life of the person seeking the award.

Last year, 12 people were granted an award for a variety of ideas including; art materials, driving lessons, computer software, equipment to set up a painting and decorating business, an electronic music course, a moped, and a software programming course.

Awards like these have a huge effect on the lives of the recipients. You can help support people taking big steps.
