RBS staff dig the garden
RBS staff help prepare the garden for a new lawn.

A team of volunteers from the Royal Bank of Scotland recently spent the day clearing weeds and rubbish and planting a new lawn at a Thames Reach housing project in Camden.

Ten members of staff from the organisations Technology Services team - including one who is a member of the Royal Horticultural Society - came down to help clear rubbish and weeds from the garden and apply some much needed TLC to the space. The team collected over 50 bags of waste from the area and as well as raising funds for new turf, kindly donated a lawn mower so tenants can maintain the lawn.

The work has prompted complimentary comments from neighbours and members of the public alike; with what was a derelict, overgrown area transformed into an attractive outside space.

Messina Avenue Resident Sanjeev, who now looks after the area, said: “It’s been great wandering down to the end of the garden and looking after the lawn. One thing I’m particularly looking forward to is hosting barbecues for fellow tenants and friends this summer.
