Many of our services benefit greatly from the work of nearly 100 dedicated volunteers. They provide vital support to our paid staff and engage directly with service users.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life. Many contribute their time whilst also holding down jobs. Some work for the many companies that support Thames Reach. Others are former homeless people eager to give something back.

Thames Reach also runs a number of services and schemes that utilize the skills of trained, volunteer peer mentors. Peer mentors are people who have lived through a specific experience and who can use their own, personal experiences to help and advise someone who is going through similar issues themselves (the peer mentee).

If you are interested in volunteering with Thames Reach we have a wide range of opportunities available across the organisation. Volunteer roles include working with our street outreach services, working with homeless people in our hostels and supported housing projects, peer mentoring, office based work and fundraising and events opportunities.

We would like to hear from you, whether you have a few hours or days to spare each week or month, as your help can make a real difference. As a volunteer you will be part of the Thames Reach team. You will be provided with a full induction, offered relevant training, and receive ongoing support. We encourage people with experience of homelessness to volunteer.

Our general volunteer role profile provides greater detail of the ongoing and open recruitment to volunteering roles in the Organisation. Specific volunteer roles are available at times and opportunities are posted on this page.
